Black and white Flora dress
Those who follow me on Instagram will know that I completed my challenge in time!
I’m really chuffed with myself and I love the dress. I was waiting to do a blog post as I didn’t get many photos in my dress at the family party. I wore it again for my work do and again didn’t get any full length shots!
I used my tried and true Flora pattern so didn’t have to figure out fitting which saved a lot of time. I made the level hemmed version this time so I didn’t have to fully line it. I used everything from my stash, including invisible zip. I did take a risk prewashing the fabric the same day that I cut it but it turned out fine! I don’t have a tumble dryer so ironed it as dry as I could.
I love me some inside out photos! I didn’t attach the bottom of the bodice lining in case it restricted movement but did attach it around the zip. Apologies for some of the photos, gotta sort out where is good to take photos in the poor winter light!
Here’s some photos from my Grandad’s party, playing with my cousins.
The fabric was from my trip to NYC Mood Fabrics and is a lovely thick stretch cotton I think. I saw that Chain Stitcher has also used this for a skirt before.
Anyways I’m really happy with it and got some lovely compliments. It’s nice to have a twist on a black dress.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
