New year sewing resolutions
New year always gives you time to think about what you would like to achieve and I have been fortunate enough to have some time off to think about it over the Christmas period. Last year seemed mad and very busy. In terms of sewing, I always thought it was better to only sew when I had a big chunk of time to do it so I can really concentrate. This plan did not seem to work so well as there were fewer opportunities for larger chunks of time to sew, and therefore didn’t sew as much as I would have liked.
Those who know me personally, will know I am getting married this year and am making my bridesmaid’s dresses. I very briefly thought about sewing my wedding dress, however immediately decided against it. Two reasons, a) I don’t know what style I want and b) would be far too stressed out at getting it perfect and thinking about it’s imperfections! As I have made most of the dresses I have worn to other people’s weddings I thought making my bridesmaids dresses seemed the right thing to do.
So, my plan for this year is to make smaller bits of time count more towards sewing. Make some more time to blog about the sewing and to make 4 bridesmaid’s dresses.
